The company was founded in 2014 by Jonathon and Sharon Carr-Brown. Jonathon had just stepped down as Managing Director of NHS Choices. Jonathon launched NHS Choices with Tim Kelsey, NHS England's National Director for Patients and Information, in 2007 and took over as Managing Director in 2010. During his tenure the NHS Choices team grew the site from seven million to 42 million visits a month.
Sharon Carr-Brown founded the Foundation Trust Governors' Association the independent voice of Foundation Trust hospital governors in England. Until 2014 she was a senior governor at Bournemouth Hospital Foundation Trust. Her previous experience includes working as producer/researcher on BBC Radio 4s World at One and PM programme, as a researcher at World Service News and the World Service Mandarin Service.
